Skin rejuvenation, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, improvement in skin texture, redness, pigmentation and acne scarring

Just the facts

Ellipse Juvia offers the latest in fractional resurfacing technology for skin rejuvenation, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, improvement in skin texture, redness, pigmentation and acne scarring. Juvia harnesses the proven power of traditional CO2 lasers in a more gentle way, minimizing the recovery process and reducing social downtime.

What is fractional resurfacing?
Fractional resurfacing is a variation of traditional resurfacing of the skin where just a small percentage of the surface area of the skin is treated. The laser makes a large number of very small, highly controlled treatment points in a precise pattern on the skin. Because only a fraction of the skin’s surface area is actually treated, post-treatment healing is faster and patients are able to resume normal activities sooner than with traditional CO2 resurfacing.

Why fractional CO2?
CO2 lasers have been the gold-standard for resurfacing treatments for 20 years. This is because they are able to remove the outer layers of skin while heating the underlying tissues. This stimulates the production of new collagen which improves the tone and texture of the skin over time. By removing the upper layers of skin in a small percentage of the treatment area, recovery times are reduced while maintaining the benefits of skin resurfacing.

How does it work?
Ellipse Juvia creates a large number of small holes called Micro Thermal Zones (MTZ) in the skin. The number and depth of the MTZ is very precisely defined. Because the MTZ are so close, the body’s natural healing process tends to repair the entire area, not just the holes. And because healthy untreated skin surrounds each of the MTZ, the recovery process is shortened.

“My patients are happy with the Juvia treatment. Brown spots and dyschromia are improved as well as fine wrinkles. The treatment is easy to administer and well tolerated by patients with only topical anesthetic cream. Downtime is acceptable and patients are able to wear makeup in about 4 days. Overall, patient satisfaction is good and the procedure has been well-received by my patients.”
